NETWORK ANALYST CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES!
Here at RBC, our culture is deeply supportive, rich in opportunity and reward, and high in integrity and performance. To us, being a global leader means continuously pursuing the path to excellence. So whether we're developing new technology, inventing products for a changing world, creating innovative business models, or forging new relationships with clients, we're constantly pushing the boundaries of banking - all 79,000 of us. We enable our people to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. If you're looking to be more, look here.
Technology and Operations (T&O) plays a critical role in the day to day activities that align with RBC's business strategies, outcomes and objectives to ensure continued focus on enabling leading advice and service for RBC clients that is backed by technological and operational excellence. We offer career-defining opportunities to build upon your dynamic critical thinking and interpersonal skills, while learning the 'business behind the bank'.
Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is responsible for planning, developing, supporting, maintaining and delivering technology infrastructure services across RBC. This includes core hosting technologies which are the backbone upon which our businesses deliver services and launch their products. We also own and create solutions to foster collaboration across the enterprise and support our 80,000 employees across many geographies. This includes everything from essential technology for employees (such as phones, mobile devices, desktops and laptops) to critical technology enabling our global businesses (including data centers, mainframes, application servers and our globally distributed network).
As a co-op student entering our organization you'll become a member of the GTI Team and given access to networking opportunities and receive training that will help you build a foundation for a successful career.
As a Network Analyst (Co-op) you will provide technical support for RBC's global network. Primary support encompasses all aspects of incident management and execution of change management. The team works closely with the Global Data Centre Operations team, as well as L2 support teams in the Security Integration, Distributed Networks, and Data Centre network teams. In addition to providing the highest possible level of network availability, co-op analysts will be called upon to assist in trouble shooting incidents that cover various layers of the OSI model. With the use of networking tools, co-op analysts will isolate problematic network components and take steps to alleviate client impact. Incident management will also extend beyond the borders of the RBC network and include numerous global network carriers as well as vendor management of hardware suppliers leveraged in the support of the RBC network.
Change management activities consist of reviewing all changes to identify any potential issues prior to applying new configurations. Post implementation verification is a key part of verifying the success of changes.
